The location of each event is split between the cities of Delta, Langley, and Vancouver (approximately 30-55 minute drive between each location). Please refer to "Events" tab on the website.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Refer to the "Outfit Planner" to get ideas for colors and types of outfits to wear for each event.
For the Sikh Wedding, please do not wear revealing clothing and you must cover your head during the entire ceremony. For women, please bring a scarf, dupatta, or chunni. For men, a rumal will be provided at the venue before entering. Keep in mind, that the pre-event and wedding will be held outdoors.
Are there any cultural customs I should be aware of as a guest attending a Sikh Wedding?
As mentioned above, dress code must be respectful. Please dress modestly and avoid outfits with revealing cuts or plunging necklines. If wearing a dress, opt for floor length.
It's customary to cover your head and remove your shoes.
The Sikh wedding usually lasts for 1-2 hours. You will be seated on the floor. There will be minimal chairs and benches available for elders or those with disabilities.
